The IEEE was formed in 1963 by the merger of the Institute of Radio Engineers and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. The growth of IEEE education programs is to ensure the growth of skill and knowledge in the technical professions and to foster individual commitment to continuing education among IEEE members, the engineering and scientific communities and the general public. The IEEE GTBIT Student Branch was set up in the year 2008 with an aim to enhance the engineering skills of students in GTBIT. The student branch has been actively involved in achieving these goals and fostering leadership values not just among its members, but also the non-members of college.
It gives me immense pleasure and a deep sense of responsibility to be associated with the IEEE GTBIT Student Branch as its Branch Counsellor. IEEE GTBIT SB has been nurturing a culture of technical excellence, innovation, professional growth and ethical leadership since its establishment in 2008.
As a Branch Counsellor, my endeavour is to provide students with the right guidance, mentorship and opportunities to transform their academic knowledge into meaningful real-world capabilities. Through technical events, workshops, expert interactions, research initiatives, competitions, industry engagement and collaborative projects, we strive to create an environment where students can explore, experiment and excel.
I firmly believe that engineering education goes beyond classrooms and textbooks. A successful engineer must possess not only strong technical knowledge but also creativity, communication skills, teamwork, leadership, professional ethics and a commitment to society. IEEE provides an excellent platform for students to develop these qualities while connecting with a global professional community.
At IEEE-GTBIT SB, we encourage our students to question, innovate, collaborate and continuously learn. My vision is to see every IEEE student member emerge as a confident and competent professional who can contribute meaningfully to industry, research and society.
I am confident that with the enthusiasm of our students, the dedication of our faculty mentors and the support of IEEE, the IEEE GTBIT Student Branch will continue to create opportunities, inspire innovation and advance technology for the benefit of humanity.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology's (GTBIT) IEEE Student Branch showcased remarkable dedication and participation at the IEEE CSIS 2023 Conference hosted by Chandigarh University. Focused on AI, Blockchain, and Cyber Security, the event provided a platform for in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies.
Sahib Preet Singh, a 3rd-year AI and Machine Learning student, earned the Best Campus Ambassador Award for his exceptional commitment. With over 10 members in attendance, GTBIT had the highest representation among colleges outside Chandigarh, highlighting our students' fervor for technological advancements.
