The IEEE was formed in 1963 by the merger of the Institute of Radio Engineers and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. The growth of IEEE education programs is to ensure the growth of skill and knowledge in the technical professions and to foster individual commitment to continuing education among IEEE members, the engineering and scientific communities and the general public. The IEEE GTBIT Student Branch was set up in the year 2008 with an aim to enhance the engineering skills of students in GTBIT. The student branch has been actively involved in achieving these goals and fostering leadership values not just among its members, but also the non-members of college.

Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology's (GTBIT) IEEE Student Branch showcased remarkable dedication and participation at the IEEE CSIS 2023 Conference hosted by Chandigarh University. Focused on AI, Blockchain, and Cyber Security, the event provided a platform for in-depth discussions on cutting-edge technologies.
Sahib Preet Singh, a 3rd-year AI and Machine Learning student, earned the Best Campus Ambassador Award for his exceptional commitment. With over 10 members in attendance, GTBIT had the highest representation among colleges outside Chandigarh, highlighting our students' fervor for technological advancements.
