Event Report – SRIJAN 2025
Department of Computer Science & Engineering, GTBIT
The Department
of Computer Science & Engineering, Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of
Technology (GTBIT) successfully organized its annual technical fest SRIJAN
2025 on 12th September 2025. With the theme “Innovate, Inspire,
Impact”, the one-day event brought together students, alumni, and faculty
in a vibrant celebration of technology, creativity, and innovation.

Inaugural Ceremony
The event
commenced with an inspiring inaugural ceremony graced by the Chief Guest,
Dr. Manish Kumar Hooda (Director – Technology, India Semiconductor Mission,
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology).
A key
highlight of the ceremony was the unveiling of the Alumni Matrix Wall
Magazine of the CSE Department. This initiative has been launched to
celebrate the achievements of alumni who have excelled in industry, academia,
and research. The Alumni Matrix aims to:
- Showcase
alumni success stories and career milestones.
- Inspire
current students through entrepreneurial ventures and professional
journeys.
- Strengthen
the student–alumni–faculty connection.
- Provide
a platform for knowledge-sharing and mentorship.
Dr. Hooda
formally inaugurated the Alumni Matrix Wall Magazine, marking a
significant step in enriching alumni–student engagement and motivating students
towards excellence.
The
inaugural ceremony was also attended by Dr. Aashish Bhardwaj (Head, CSE
Department), Dr. Munshi Yadav (Dean, CSE), Dr. Rominder Kaur
(Director, GTBIT), along with all Heads of Departments and senior faculty
members.
Technical Events
SRIJAN 2025
featured seven exciting inter-college technical events, conducted by
various student societies of CSE:
- ? Battle of Bytes – Conducted by GDG Society: CSS
Battle & Debug Contest.
- ? Clash of Titans – Conducted by Gaming Titans:
Competitive Gaming Event.
- ? DSA War Room – Conducted by AURA Society: Data
Structures & Algorithms Quiz.
- ? SustainifyAI – Project Competition focused on AI for
sustainability.
- ? Pitch Tank – Conducted by Technova Society: Showcase
of Entrepreneurial Spirit.
- ? ThinkGenix – A Tech Debate – Conducted by Genix Society:
Debate on emerging technologies.
- ? Pixel Forge: Gen-AI Edition – Conducted by 15ForTeen
Society: Creative AI-powered design event.
All the
events witnessed enthusiastic inter-college participation, showcasing
innovation, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities of the students.
Valedictory Ceremony
The fest
concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony, graced by the Guest of
Honour, Dr. Jagadeesh Gopal (Professor, School of Computer Engineering &
Information Systems, VIT; Executive Member, IEEE Computer Society, Madras
Section).
Dr. Gopal
distributed cash prizes, medals, and e-certificates to the winning
students. Judges and faculty coordinators were also presented with tokens of
appreciation for their valuable contribution in making the fest a grand
success.
Conclusion
SRIJAN 2025 proved to
be a platform where innovation met inspiration. The event not only encouraged
students to demonstrate their technical acumen but also strengthened the bond
between alumni, faculty, and students. With active participation, engaging
competitions, and inspiring addresses by distinguished guests, SRIJAN 2025
left an enduring impact and truly lived up to its motto – Innovate, Inspire,
Impact.
