Introduction
Operating under the
aegis of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Guru Tegh Bahadur
Institute of Technology (GTBIT), New Delhi, successfully served as a Remote Centre for the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on
Indian Knowledge System (IKS), conducted virtually by the National Institute of Technical Teachers
Training and Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh from 21st to 25th July 2025.
This academic
initiative aimed to bridge India’s rich historical and intellectual traditions
with the demands of modern pedagogy, fostering a deeper understanding of how
indigenous wisdom can be effectively integrated into present-day educational
practices.
Participation
The FDP, organised
by the Department of Applied Sciences,
GTBIT, witnessed the active participation of over 40 faculty members representing diverse departments of the
institute.
Objectives
The primary
objectives of the FDP were to:

of India.

Examine the practical applications of IKS in
contemporary education.

Inspire educators to integrate indigenous knowledge frameworks into
curriculum design, research and community engagement.

Throughout the
week, participants engaged in intellectually stimulating sessions led by expert
resource persons from NITTTR Chandigarh.

Dr. Rominder Kaur Randhawa, Director of
