Industrial Visit to Panipat Thermal Power Plant, Panipat
Date of Visit: 31 January (Saturday)
Participants: Students of Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT)
As part of the institute’s continuous efforts to strengthen industry–academia interaction and promote experiential learning, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), GTBIT organized an industrial visit on 31st January (Saturday) to Panipat Thermal Power Plant, Panipat for GTBIT students.

The industrial visit provided students with first-hand exposure to real-time industrial environments and large-scale power generation systems. Students were introduced to practical applications of emerging and core engineering domains such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics and Instrumentation Systems, Computer-based Data Operation, Automation, and Control Systems as implemented in modern thermal power plants.
The visit played a significant role in bridging the gap between theoretical concepts taught in classrooms and their practical industrial implementation. It enhanced students’ understanding of industry practices, operational workflows, safety protocols, and technological integration in power sector industries. Such exposure contributes directly to achieving Program Outcomes (POs) related to engineering knowledge, problem analysis, and readiness for professional practice.

This industrial visit helped in making students industry-ready, improving their technical awareness, and preparing them to meet future professional and industrial challenges effectively.
The visit was coordinated by Dr. Manisha Mittal and Dr. Prachi Dewan, faculty members of the ECE Department, under the able guidance and visionary leadership of the Honorable Director, Dr. Rominder Kaur Randhawa.
