The Department of Computer Science and Engineering of GTBIT, celebrated CSE Day – Srijan 2025 with great enthusiasm and energy. As part of the celebrations, AURA – Association for Unleashing Research and Advancement organized an exciting coding competition titled DSA War Room on 12th September 2025 in Labs 27 and 28.
The
event witnessed an overwhelming response from participants, who battled it out
across three challenging rounds designed to test coding efficiency, accuracy,
and presence of mind. A total of 57 participants registered for the
competition.
Round
1: Speed Coding
The
first round consisted of 10 coding questions, out of which participants had to
solve any 2 questions within 11 minutes. A total of 57 participants appeared in
this round, and only those who successfully cleared this stage advanced to the
next round.
Round
2: Code Reproduction
In
this round, participants were provided with printed code snippets in C, C++,
Java, and Python. Each participant had 1 minute to read the code and then 4
minutes to reproduce the exact same code. This round tested not only coding
knowledge but also memory and attention to detail. A total of 28 participants
qualified for this round.
Round
3: Technical Quiz
The
final round was a fast-paced quiz consisting of 30 questions. Participants had
20 seconds per question for the first 10 questions, after which the time was
reduced to 15 seconds per question. This rapid-fire format kept participants on
their toes, ensuring only the sharpest minds reached the top. A total of 11
participants competed in the final round.
Fun
Activity
To
keep the energy high and the participants engaged, a fun game was conducted
during the result calculation breaks. In this game, one participant wore
headphones with loud music while another tried to make them guess given words
or sentences. The activity brought laughter and excitement, adding a
light-hearted touch to the competitive atmosphere.
Winners
After
an intense and thrilling competition, the winners were declared as:

· 2nd
Place: Neev Ahuja (GTBIT) – ?1500
Conclusion
The
DSA War Room was a resounding success, providing a perfect blend of learning,
competition, and fun. The event not only tested the coding and problem-solving
skills of participants but also fostered teamwork, enthusiasm, and healthy
competition. It truly reflected the spirit of Srijan and left participants
eagerly awaiting future editions of such technical events.
